Interview preparation

Success at the Interview:

To succeed, rules should be followed in order to make the best impression possible and gain a job offer which is the objective of the interview process.

Preparation Basics:

Know who you are meeting and their position within the company?

Where and what time is the meeting?

How will I get there?

You should also have a copy of the job description.

Research:

Time should be spent reading the job description thoroughly and matching your skills and experience with the job requirements.

You should also be able to predict questions they are likely to ask and practice answers to these possible questions.

You should learn as much information on the company as possible and what interests you about the organisation. Viewing their website, brochures, articles on the internet and annual reports are excellent resources to gain this information. (How many employees, turnover, what they do, why they do it, even research their competitors to understand the industry etc)

Practice likely interview questions:

While it is almost impossible to predict every question the interviewer will ask you, there are common questions that are more than likely going to be asked and these should be practiced in preparation for difficult questions. (See interview questions section)
